Well the frames are all up and it looks like a house and now it is time for me to start cladding it and finishing. Sam has done a great job and saved us a heap of time. Most of this Owner building thing is knowing when to pay someone and when to do it yourself. It was definitely worth paying Sam to get us to this stage he put 10,000 screws in just the sub floor steel. Today Callum and I measured up the roof for the roofing iron and all the walls for the wall battens which the cladding will be screwed to. As well as calculating the number of fasteners for the deck – 3200 to my count. The view sitting on the roof is fantastic although I think Callum was too nervous to enjoy his position on the ladder. I hope my post night duty maths and measuring is accurate but we will find out when the Trim deck gets here at the end of the week.
